BIM SUPPORT THROUGHOUT THE BUILT ENVIRONMENT LIFECYCLE
MV-BIM provide a range of expert BIM support at each stage in the life-cycle of a built asset: Design, Construction and Operation. Our services are directed respectively towards Design Consultants, Building Contractors and Building Owners/Facility Managers.
MV-BIM significantly reduces costs, allowing our clients to tender more competitively or enjoy higher profit margins.
MV-BIM’s management team includes Autodesk Certified Professionals who lead training programmes and Master’s degrees in BIM. We provide in-house training and mentoring to ensure all our production staff are fully trained and continually improving.
BUILDING DESIGN
MV-BIM provides fully integrated and coordinated 3D models from 2D drawings in a very short time.
We are specialists in creating Architectural / Structural / MEP and FF&E models. MV-BIM also provides integrated models which contain these three disciplines.
This model will be the central project file, which contains all the information, and will be developed depending on the needs and objectives of our client.
We assist our clients with the extraction of information from the BIM model in basic project and execution phases. As well as in preliminary presentations.
BIM COORDINATION:
MV-BIM can carry out periodical coordination and interference detection of the different disciplines’ model data on the project server. We also carry out audits of BIM models.
3D virtual technology allows us to coordinate architecture, structure and M&E, detecting clashes and interferences in 3D. This way we eliminate the human failings that are traditionally produced in coordination with 2D , as well as the consequences of risk, time and cost.
MV-BIM increases the quality control of a project transferring 2D information to 3D for virtual analysis.
CONSTRUCTION
LOGISTICS MODELLING: We produce 4D BIM models and animations for architects and building contractors. These are useful for visualising, planning and communicating the progress of construction works over time and their impact on the surrounding environment.
QUANTITY TAKE-OFFS: Throughout a project lifecycle, we can provide reliable measurement of quantities in the format that is most useful to our clients. This is especially useful in informing Value Engineering decisions.
In the tender process, we provide quantity estimation through the production of a BIM model for estimation purposes.
FABRICATION DRAWINGS AND SCHEDULES: We create LoD-400 models and convert them into a comprehensive and fully itemised package of graphical assembly instructions for external envelope elements that can be prefabricated offsite by the contractor (eg. fixings, flashings, copings, SFS panels and threshold strips) . Individual elements are codified and labelled in the workshop. On site, our documentation minimises error, eliminates waste and facilitates the most rapid and safe installation.
FACILITIES MANAGEMENT BIM SUPPORT
AS-BUILT MODELS: BIM models provide the basis for the future asset and facilities management of buildings. A complete, Architectural, Structural and MEP model and associated COBie database can provide detail on every aspect and component of the building.
Construction Operations Building Information Exchange (COBie) is a data format for the publication of a subset of building model information focused on delivering building information not geometric modeling.
COBie helps capture and record important project data at the point of origin, including equipment lists, product data sheets, warranties, spare parts lists, and preventive maintenance schedules. This information is essential to support operations, maintenance and asset management once the built asset is in service.
SURVEY TO BIM: 3D Laser Scanner data is used to create accurate and detailed Building Information Models (BIM) in a variety of formats, for renovation, retrofit or refurbishment, ‘as built’ survey of buildings & infrastructure. Individual assets are modeled and parameters added for seamless integration with CAFM systems.
