• BIM MODELLING / SCAN TO BIM

MV-BIM specializes in the production of BIM models in very short delivery times, adjusting to the level of detail and information required by our clients. Our team counts with extensive experience producing high quality Architectural, Structural, MEP, Civils and Infrastructure models for a diverse range of consultants.

We take UK BIM Framework and ISO 19650-2 as guidance and use NBS BIM Toolkit when defining the
Level of Information Need (LOIN) in our UK projects, considering both Level of Detail (LoD) and Level of Information (LoI). We are equally familiar with the US standard The Level of Development (LOD) Specification from BIM Forum which specify and articulate with a high level of clarity the content and reliability of BIM Models at various stages in the design and construction process (LOD 100 to 400).

We use a range of BIM-enabled softwares depending on the requirements and outputs desired. We mostly use Revit and Autocad, as primary authoring tool for 2D documentation and 3D ‘information-rich’ modeling. We also have vast experience with Navisworks, BIM 360, BIMCollab, BIMTrack for model coordination, clash detection and issue management. We usually hand in IFC/NWC file formats as model deliverables but we can also provide RVT if required.

We have a reliable team that specializes on Scan To BIM services and can create accurate and detailed BIM models out of the captured point clouds following 3D Laser Scanning of existing facilities which might require renovation, retrofit, refurbishment or even for ‘As Built’ survey of buildings & infrastructure documentation. Individual assets can also be modeled and parameters added for seamless integration with CAFM systems.

We produce time animated models for architects and building contractors who are interested in site logistics, construction sequencing or installation phasing. 4D adds the time factor of the construction schedule to the 3D model. We help visualising, planning and communicating the progress of construction works over time and their impact on the surrounding environment.

We can bring cost into the virtual project lifecycle, by extracting reliable Quantity Take-Offs (QTO) generated from the data within the BIM models. This removes the ineffiicency and errors coming from conventional estimating techniques typically relying only on 2D drawings. 5D is especially useful during tender process for quantity estimation purposes or hep with value engineering decisions.

MV-BIM understands the importance of Sustainability (6D) and Facility Management (7D) in the AECO industry. We can help any member of the design or construction team with the addition of relevant information to predict energy consumption and cost-efficiency during the design process and fulfill Facility Management and Operation requirements. We can set up and structure COBie database, manage Data Drops at set stages of a project or even just audit existing BIM models whether they are compliance with the EIR/BEP.
